AGENCY LIFE. STILL DRAWING!
As I briefly mentioned in my last ‘studio life’ blog, my role has changed a lot in the last 12-18 months. Whilst I love all things Graphic Design, it has been nice to take a step back and let my, frankly better, design and development team take the weight so to speak. I am now much more concentrated on creative direction, client strategy and making sure Pelling design is attracting the best clients! All that said, I still have a creative scratch to itch, and one I am thoroughly enjoying out of work hours (and if time allows, some ‘in work hours’!!) with my drawing
I like to think I have improved over the last couple of years… I can see a good progression when I look back and am super happy to have the time to learn this wonderful craft!
I am inspired by many things, and especially music, sport and the movies. All of these have played a part in the person I am, so its been a obvious source of inspiration for me to draw on.. excuse the pun.
My drawings here include my sporting heroes Bradley Wiggins, Lewis Hamilton, Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan and many more. For Music, the late great Ian Curtis, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain, as well as Liam Gallagher and Depeche Mode. The Godfather is my favourite film of all time – obvious I know – but the Don make a appearance here!
Drawing and creating art from my inspirations keeps me engaged and driven to keep learning and honing my skills. One day I will actually try and sell some of these. I do get good feedback so hopefully I will have time to commit and concentrate on doing this Anyway, I hope you like what you see.
