Yes or No… The Scottish Independence Referendum

Flagging the subject…

I am not about to get political, so please do not stop reading! I am sure you have heard and read all about both sides of the story, but that’s not what I wanted to talk about…

What I wanted to discuss is – what is our flag going to look like if the answer is YES!  And who would be commissioned to do such a thing.

If the correct people are reading this, I am throwing Pelling’s hat into the ring… what a great branding project to be a part of.

What ever they do it will be contentious, you only have to cast your mind back a couple of years ago with all the fuss about the Olympics branding and Olympics uniform. Stella McCartney got it in the neck for her predominately blue design… well, at least we won’t have to worry about that subject!

One of the main problems appear to be how to incorporate the welsh flag – the green clashes with the red so it will be interesting to see what they do if the answer is YES

I have selected a few of the best – along with the not so good – doing the rounds online.

Well, frankly I think they all look odd but I guess we have all been used to the existing flag from when we are very young! for this reason alone, lets hope its a No!.

Closing thought: I wonder if they will ‘re-brand’ the new independent Scotland?
