Design Method
TERUMO BCT Interactive Presentation Deck. London, Surrey
As we have alluded too a few times – we love making otherwise dull presentations / statistics / information look stunning at Pelling Design… but I make no apologies because it is my favourite thing about being a designer.
We view this as rare design challenge and will always be my favoured test for prospective or incoming designers at Pelling Marketing!
When working for a client in any sector – especially healthcare – then there are always a huge amount of caveats, clinicals and proof points that go along with any new or existing product innovation.
Terumo have worked with the design team at Pelling for a number of years to bring their charts and tables to life! There is nothing worse than multiple slides of boring, grey, dull bar charts.
Terumo’s photo library is pretty deep and allows us to utilsie and break up the repetitiveness of viewing a lot of information.
It should never be underestimated the impact this can have in digesting information. Breaking multiple slides into sizeable chunks allows a the viewer to take in information at a better pace and stops a huge presentation from looking overawing, monotonous and hard to follow
Use of colour plays a hugely important role too. It can help differentiate the information and draw out key aspects, not to mention making the whole presentation more aesthetically pleasing too!
In terms of the charts themselves I always believe the simpler the better. When we receive this information, there is often a multitude of colours, line thicknesses and fonts used when putting this information together, often by a number of different parties – but, it is amazing what a little design consistency can do.
By carrying out the above and integrating these aspects into our design process, we completely overhauled a boring presentation into a design master piece!
