Last Thursday James and the Pelling Marketing by Design team attended the Toast of Surrey Awards at the H.G. Well’s Centre in Woking, Surrey as a finalist for the ‘Director of the Year’ Award.
The annual black tie event brought together over 300 attendees from local businesses in Surrey, who came to support and enjoy an evening of good food, music and celebrations.
Unfortunately it wasn’t a win for James this year; however we didn’t let that ruin our evening. It’s always great to get the team together socially outside of work, plus it was a great excuse to get all dolled up and let our hair down.
After a champagne reception we enjoyed a three course meal followed by the awards ceremony itself. We had the pleasure of sharing a table with Plantpassion, who were in the finals for the ‘Green’ Award and Positive Autism Support and Training who were also hoping to win an award in the ‘social enterprise’ category.
I must say that the format of the awards worked really well and we especially liked the live Twitter feed on the big screens. It was a nice touch, giving supporters the opportunity to send any final ‘good luck’ tweets.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and who knows, maybe we’ll scoop gold next year!
We are all extremely proud of James’s efforts and the way he has led Pelling over the past 8 years. To be a finalist is a great achievement, which has be recognised by our local business community, clients, family and friends.
